**Islamabad:** Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Abdullah II to discuss the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East and growing regional tensions.
According to the prime minister’s spokesperson for foreign media, Musharraf Zaidi, the conversation took place on March 1, 2026. In a post on social media, he stated that the two leaders exchanged views on the escalating tensions following Israeli strikes on Iran and the subsequent developments affecting Jordan and other regional countries.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep concern over the situation and emphasized the need for immediate restraint, de-escalation, and dialogue to preserve peace and stability in the region.
He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Jordan and other brotherly regional states during this challenging period. The prime minister offered Pakistan’s support for all efforts aimed at restoring calm and ensuring regional stability.
According to the spokesperson, both leaders agreed to remain in close contact regarding further developments in the region.
