PM Shehbaz Expresses Condolences Over Ayatollah Khamenei’s Martyrdom, Says Heads of State Must Not Be Targeted

**Islamabad:** Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep sorrow on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan over the reported martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, stating that heads of state should not be targeted under any circumstances.

In an official statement, the prime minister said that Pakistan stands in solidarity with the people of Iran during this difficult time. He extended heartfelt condolences to the Iranian nation and described the development as a moment of profound grief.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also voiced concern over what he termed a violation of international norms, emphasizing that, according to established traditions and principles, leaders of states must not be made targets.

“We pray for the departed soul of Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei,” the prime minister said, adding that he hoped the Iranian people would be granted strength and patience to bear the immense loss.

The statement reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Iran and underscored the importance of adhering to international law and diplomatic norms in times of regional tension.
