Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman Criticises Sindh Government After Gul Plaza Tragedy

Karachi: Renowned religious scholar Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman has said that Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari highlighted the performance of the Sindh government at the Presidency, but the Gul Plaza tragedy overshadowed all such claims.
In a statement, Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman described the Gul Plaza incident as a major tragedy, adding that traders’ associations have estimated losses of around Rs 3 billion due to the devastating fire.
He said it was alarming that a city with a population of nearly 30 million lacks an effective firefighting system. “Bilawal Bhutto spoke about the Sindh government’s performance at the Presidency, but the Gul Plaza tragedy poured cold water on all those claims,” he remarked.
Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman also prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased and patience for their bereaved families.
