19 Beggars Arrested in UAE Anti-Begging Campaign; AED 11,000 Recovered from One Individual

United Arab Emirates: Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have intensified their anti-begging campaign, resulting in multiple arrests across different emirates.
According to foreign media reports, 19 beggars were arrested in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah as part of the ongoing crackdown. Authorities recovered AED 11,000 (approximately Rs 836,000) from one of the arrested individuals.
In a separate operation, police in Dubai arrested 26 beggars during the first week of Ramadan. Reports said that AED 20,000 (over Rs 1.5 million) was recovered from one of the detainees.
Officials have reiterated their commitment to curbing professional begging, particularly during Ramadan, and urged the public to donate only through authorized charitable channels.
