Pakistan’s Security Concerns with Afghanistan Are Legitimate, Says Maulana Fazlur Rehman

**Islamabad:** Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has expressed deep concern over rising tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, urging both countries to demonstrate restraint and agree to an immediate ceasefire.
In his statement, he said that Pakistan’s security concerns regarding Afghanistan are legitimate and deserve serious attention. However, he emphasized that Afghanistan’s sovereignty and internal challenges must also be respected. He warned that emotional reactions from either side could further complicate the situation.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman proposed that the issue be resolved through dialogue based on mutual interests, the establishment of a reliable security framework, and adherence to internationally recognized norms. He stressed that diplomacy remains the most effective way to ease tensions and maintain regional stability.
