Pakistan on High Alert Over Nipah Virus, 100% Passenger Screening at Borders Ordered

**Islamabad (Daily Qudrat Islamabad):**
Pakistan has been placed on high alert following the outbreak of the Nipah virus in India, although no confirmed cases have yet been reported in the country. The Federal Ministry of Health, through its Border Health Services, has issued warnings and advisories regarding the spread of the virus in neighboring regions.
Authorities have directed strict screening of all incoming and transit passengers at airports, seaports, and land borders across Pakistan. Thermal screening and medical examination of every traveler is now mandatory, along with verification of their complete travel history over the past 21 days. Special monitoring has been ordered for passengers arriving from high-risk or Nipah-affected areas, and anyone showing suspected symptoms must be immediately isolated.
Officials also clarified that no passenger will be allowed entry into Pakistan without proper clearance. While there are currently no confirmed cases in Pakistan, five cases have been reported in India’s West Bengal state.
In response to the potential spread of Nipah virus, countries including Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Nepal have also initiated passenger screening measures at their borders.
