Rawalpindi: Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, announced that 274 militants have been killed and 400 injured so far in Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq.

Addressing a press conference on Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions, the military spokesperson said the Prime Minister was briefed in detail about the progress of the operation. He stated that Pakistan had taken decisive action against the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

According to Lt Gen Chaudhry, terrorist hideouts were targeted on the night of February 21 and 22. He alleged that the Afghan Taliban regime is backing terrorist elements.

Providing operational details, he said 73 militant posts were destroyed and 18 were captured. Additionally, 115 tanks and armored vehicles were destroyed. Twelve Pakistan Army soldiers embraced martyrdom while fighting the militants, while 27 personnel were injured and one remains missing.

He further stated that 22 hideouts linked to what he termed “Fitna al-Hindustan” and “Fitna al-Khawarij” were targeted, adding that militants fled the battlefield leaving behind the bodies of their associates.

The DG ISPR emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces have once again demonstrated their readiness to defend the country at all costs. He warned that if any terrorist incident occurs anywhere in Pakistan, neither the perpetrators nor their facilitators will find safe haven. He urged the Afghan Taliban regime to choose between supporting terrorists or maintaining relations with Pakistan.

During the press conference, videos of strikes on militant positions were shown. The military spokesperson maintained that only military targets were engaged in a professional manner and dismissed allegations of targeting women and children as false propaganda.

He added that the nation stands united behind the armed forces, similar to past operations, and reiterated that there is no political divide within Pakistan regarding the fight against terrorism. Referring to the National Action Plan, he noted that it was formulated with consensus among all political parties.

Lt Gen Chaudhry also praised the bravery of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, stating that its personnel are fighting courageously on the front lines.
