Pilgrims on Horseback Arrive from Europe for Hajj, Welcomed Warmly at Saudi Border

AL-HADITHAH, SAUDI ARABIA – In an extraordinary display of devotion and perseverance, four Muslim pilgrims—three from Spain and one from Morocco—arrived at the Al-Hadithah border crossing in Saudi Arabia on horseback after weeks of grueling travel from Europe, with the intention of performing Hajj.

Their arrival in the northern Al-Qurayyat region was met with heartfelt applause, warm greetings, and aromatic incense from Saudi officials and local volunteers. A video that went viral on social media captured the emotional moment as the weary, dust-covered riders were embraced with joy and reverence.

Mamdouh Al-Mutairi, director of the Al-Hadithah center, personally welcomed the pilgrims, calling their journey “a powerful symbol of faith and sincerity.” He stated, “This incredible journey reflects the spiritual determination that drives pilgrims from all over the world to seek the Hajj, regardless of hardship. We pray for their safe journey and an accepted pilgrimage.”

Saudi border officials, in coordination with medical teams and support staff, conducted health check-ups, provided refreshments, and delivered essential Hajj guidance to the travelers. This initiative is part of the Kingdom’s broader efforts to ensure every pilgrim receives a dignified, safe, and seamless entry.

A short reception ceremony was also organized by the local development association of Al-Hadithah, where volunteers presented the guests with gifts, flowers, and a traditional Arab welcome.

The entire administration of Al-Qurayyat and Al-Hadithah is actively engaged under Saudi Arabia’s national Hajj plan to ensure a smooth, secure, and spiritually uplifting experience for pilgrims from across the globe.
