Enemy Targeting Balochistan; Dialogue Alone Not Enough to End Terrorism: Jam Kamal Khan

**Quetta:** Federal Minister for Commerce **Jam Kamal Khan** has said that hostile forces are targeting Balochistan to destabilize Pakistan, emphasizing that terrorism cannot be resolved through dialogue alone.

Speaking to a private television channel, Jam Kamal stated that elements opposed to Pakistan’s existence are exploiting Balochistan as an “easy target,” using local sleeper cells and border vulnerabilities to weaken the country’s stability. He stressed that addressing terrorism requires a strong national ideological strategy and collective political ownership rather than relying solely on negotiations.

The federal minister said that the efforts of Balochistan Chief Minister **Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti** would only succeed if the entire cabinet and state machinery stand united behind him. He expressed concern that incidents of terrorism in Balochistan often receive a different response compared to similar events in other cities, calling the disparity inappropriate.

Jam Kamal also underscored the need for what he termed “head hunting” — bringing credible and respected individuals from society to the forefront — to mobilize the public and fill governance gaps that, he said, terrorists attempt to exploit. He warned that as a nuclear power, instability in any part of Pakistan poses a serious threat to national security as a whole.
