IMF Urges U.S. to Work with Partners to Ease Trade Restrictions

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has called on the United States to cooperate with its trading partners to reduce trade barriers and ease commercial restrictions.

In its remarks, the IMF urged the U.S. to take concrete steps alongside partner countries to lower trade obstacles and address concerns related to trade practices through dialogue and engagement.

The Fund emphasized that tariffs and export restrictions imposed on the basis of national security should be limited and carefully targeted. It stressed that open communication with trading partners is essential to resolve disputes and maintain stability in the global trading system.

The IMF’s comments come amid ongoing global concerns over rising protectionism and its potential impact on economic growth and international trade flows.
