118 Deaths Reported in Power Distribution Areas During FY 2024–25: NEPRA

According to the annual report for fiscal year 2024–25 released by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), a total of 118 deaths were recorded over the year in areas served by electricity distribution companies across the country.
The report states that the highest number of fatalities occurred in areas managed by K-Electric, where 24 citizens lost their lives.
In regions under the jurisdiction of Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), 22 deaths were reported during the same period.
Meanwhile, the lowest number of fatalities was recorded in areas served by Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), where two deaths were reported.
The figures highlight ongoing safety concerns related to electricity distribution infrastructure and underscore the need for improved preventive measures to reduce accidents and protect public safety.
