Opposition Leader Raja Nasir Abbas Proposes Senate Delegation to Review PTI Founder’s Health

Islamabad: Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, Raja Nasir Abbas, has proposed forming a delegation of senators to assess the health condition of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Speaking during a Senate session, Raja Nasir Abbas suggested that a committee of senators be constituted to visit the hospital, review medical facilities, and meet the incarcerated PTI founder. He questioned why the government could not facilitate a meeting with the doctor treating him.
He further stated that the individual currently in jail does not wish to secure his release through any deal and is willing to engage in dialogue for the betterment of Pakistan.
During the session, the opposition leader also raised concerns over the suspension of live telecast of Senate proceedings, demanding clarification on who ordered the halt in transmission.
Responding to the issue, Azam Nazeer Tarar said the matter falls under the authority of the Senate of Pakistan and has no connection with the government. He added that only the Chairman Senate can issue a ruling on the matter.
Tarar also remarked that the Constitution defines certain limits and boundaries regarding freedom of expression.
