Terror Group Sets Ambulance on Fire, Killing Injured FC Officers in Brutal Attack

Islamabad: A radical extremist group, identified as Fitanah al-Khawarij, attacked a Rescue 1122 ambulance carrying injured Federal Constabulary (FC) personnel, setting it ablaze and killing the officers inside, officials confirmed.

The FC personnel who were martyred in the attack were all local to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The extremists filmed the entire incident and circulated it on social media, apparently to spread fear and terror among the public.

The attack occurred on February 23, 2026, in Qila Shahidan, Karak, after Fitanah al-Khawarij targeted an FC post using a quadcopter. Following the assault, two Rescue 1122 ambulances arrived to evacuate the injured. On their return, one ambulance was set on fire, killing the injured FC personnel inside, while the second ambulance managed to safely transport the remaining wounded. The blaze also injured the ambulance driver and a Rescue 1122 staff member.

The martyred FC personnel include Sepoy Murad Gul and Sepoy Ayan Khan from Hangu district, and Lance Naik Adil Khan from Mansehra district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Other injured include Constables Sabir, Muhammad Yousaf, Hanif, and ambulance driver Ahmed Hussain, all of whom were transported to hospitals in Bannu and Karak for treatment.

Officials condemned the attack, highlighting that targeting the wounded is strictly forbidden in Islam, even during armed conflict. They emphasized that the extremists’ actions have no connection to Islam and represent blatant brutality. Security forces vowed to continue operations against Fitanah al-Khawarij until the group is completely eradicated.
