Quetta Administration Cracks Down on Overpricing; 92 Arrested, 43 Shops Sealed

Quetta: The district administration in Quetta has intensified its crackdown against profiteers and violators of official price lists across the city, resulting in dozens of arrests and shop closures.
According to officials, a total of 308 shops and markets were inspected in various areas to ensure compliance with government-approved price lists. During the operations, 92 individuals were arrested, of whom 80 were sent to jail. Additionally, 43 shops were sealed for violations.
Details of the operations are as follows:
* **City Sub-Division:** 98 shops inspected; 34 individuals arrested and 13 shops sealed.
* **Saddar Sub-Division:** 81 shops inspected; 21 individuals arrested and 9 shops sealed.
* **Sariab Sub-Division:** 92 shops inspected; 27 individuals arrested and 10 shops sealed.
* **Kuchlak Sub-Division:** 40 shops inspected; 13 individuals arrested and 5 shops sealed.
The district administration stated that strict action will continue without interruption to provide relief to the public and ensure strict implementation of official price lists. Authorities emphasized that no leniency will be shown to profiteers violating price control regulations.
