We Will Defend Public Mandate at All Costs in Kalat-Johan Election: Maulana Abdul Wasey

**Quetta (Qudrat Daily):** Maulana Abdul Wasey, Provincial Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) (JUI-F) Balochistan and a sitting senator, has said that the party will defend its public mandate at all costs in the Kalat-Johan electoral contest and will not allow anyone to undermine the people’s decision.
In a statement, he emphasized that PB-36 is a strong and historic constituency of JUI-F, where attempts have repeatedly been made in the past to make the public mandate controversial and distort the electoral outcome. However, he said, the party has always adopted the path of patience, perseverance, and constitutional struggle.
Maulana Abdul Wasey stated that to prevent any possibility of rigging in the recent Kalat-Johan election, all political parties should rise above their differences and adopt a joint and principled stance. If the political field is not kept transparent and open for politicians, he warned, the entire political system will suffer the consequences. “Politics thrives on public trust, not on closed-door conspiracies, and this is the true spirit of democracy,” he added.
He further said that denying the public popularity of Mir Saeed Lango amounts to ignoring ground realities. Attempts to weaken leaders who enjoy public support through artificial means are not only undemocratic but also fuel political unrest in the province.
The JUI-F leader remarked that the current overall situation in the province is largely the result of what he termed as “engineered elections,” a practice that has damaged public trust and weakened democratic institutions. When the people’s mandate is repeatedly altered, it becomes difficult to persuade them to follow democratic paths, he said, questioning what response remains for those who argue that democracy and parliamentary institutions are ineffective in resolving public issues.
He stressed that if the country and province are to move toward stability, the electoral process must be made fully transparent, free, and impartial. Respect for the public mandate, he said, is the foundation of political stability and social harmony. He concluded that JUI-F will continue to safeguard the trust of its voters and defend its rights within the constitutional and democratic framework.
