Balochistan Investment Board Reviews Plan to Expedite Licensing of 1,000 Fishing Boats

Quetta: An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Balochistan Investment Board Vice Chairman Bilal Khan Kakar to accelerate and streamline the issuance of boat registration certificates.

The meeting was attended by CEO Qaim Lashari and representatives of the Fisheries Department, Government of Balochistan, including Dr. Alauddin Khan and Ms. Nighat. The primary objective was to make the process of issuing boat registration certificates faster, more transparent, and efficient.

Participants held detailed discussions on the issuance of licenses for 1,000 fishing boats. The vice chairman emphasized that the Fisheries Department should immediately coordinate closely with station assistant directors to simplify all registration procedures and eliminate unnecessary delays.

He directed that transparency, merit, and facilitation must be ensured in the licensing process so that the challenges faced by the fishing community can be addressed promptly. He noted that this initiative would not only strengthen the coastal economy but also promote investment and commercial activities in the region.

Bilal Khan Kakar instructed the relevant authorities to meet targets within the stipulated timeframe and submit regular progress reports. He reaffirmed that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the Government of Balochistan remains committed to modernizing and developing the fisheries sector.

He added that the issuance of licenses for 1,000 boats is not merely an administrative step but is directly linked to the livelihoods of coastal communities, their future, and the province’s overall economic prosperity.
