KP Bans Male Faculty from Meeting Female Students in Offices at Public Universities

**Peshawar:** The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Higher Education Department has imposed a ban on male faculty members meeting female students in their offices across all public sector universities in the province.
According to an official letter issued to all public universities, male teachers will no longer be allowed to hold one-on-one meetings with female students in their offices.
The letter further directs that each department must nominate at least one female faculty member who will be responsible for addressing the issues and complaints of female students. The designated female faculty member will listen to their concerns and ensure appropriate redressal.
In addition, the Higher Education Department has instructed universities to organize seminars at least once every quarter to raise awareness among female students about the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act.
The directive aims to ensure a safer academic environment and strengthen mechanisms for the protection and support of female students in public universities across the province.
