Robbers Disguised as Police Attempt Daylight Cash Van Heist in Italy

Rome:In a dramatic daylight incident, robbers disguised in police uniforms attempted to loot a cash van on a road in Italy, foreign media reported.

According to reports, the assailants blocked the road by parking a truck in the middle and setting it on fire. They then switched on vehicle lights and acted like police officers managing an emergency situation to deceive passersby.

During the incident, an explosion occurred near the armored cash vehicle, followed by an exchange of gunfire between the suspects and the police. The incident took place on **State Road 613**, where the robbers also looted several motorists who were forced to stop their vehicles. However, the cash van itself was not successfully robbed.

While attempting to flee, the suspects opened fire on a police vehicle. Police managed to arrest **two suspects**, while others escaped.

Authorities said that **no injuries were reported** in the incident, and a search operation is underway to apprehend the remaining suspects.
