Islamabad Authorities to Crack Down on Unregistered Taxis and Bike-Riders

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad district administration has decided to take strict action against individuals operating taxis and bike-rides without proper registration.
All online taxi services in the city will now be formally registered, with complete details of drivers and vehicles recorded. The Additional Deputy Commissioner East has been instructed to coordinate with the CEOs of all taxi services.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad has directed the Secretary of the Islamabad Transport Authority to carry out a crackdown on unregistered bike-riders.
Under the new system, all vehicle and driver registrations will be digitized, and the Islamabad Police will have full access to the data through a dedicated registration app. After registration, drivers will be required to upload passenger details to the app, and no ride will be allowed without entering the passenger’s National Identity Card number.
The DC Islamabad has announced that the formal registration process will commence tomorrow.
