World Bank Reaffirms Support for Pakistan’s 10-Year Development Program

ISLAMABAD: The World Bank has reaffirmed its support for Pakistan’s 10-year development program, pledging continued cooperation to help advance the country’s key development priorities.
Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb met World Bank Managing Director Anna Bjerde on the sidelines of the annual AlUla Conference for Emerging Market Economies in Saudi Arabia, where major economic challenges and opportunities faced by emerging economies were discussed.
During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on the Country Partnership Framework and Pakistan’s development priorities. Cooperation in various sectors, including energy, education, health, climate change, and financial reforms, also came under review.
On the occasion, Anna Bjerde reiterated the World Bank’s full support for Pakistan’s $20 billion, 10-year development program and emphasized the importance of effective and timely implementation to maximize its positive development impact.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb expressed Pakistan’s commitment to close collaboration with the World Bank and assured that all relevant federal ministries would extend full cooperation. He also stressed that active involvement and coordination of provincial governments are essential to ensure better implementation and timely execution of development initiatives.
