Sadiq Khan Achakzai Stresses Need for Peace and Unity in Balochistan, Urges Federal Government to Provide Jobs and Reopen Businesses

Quetta (Qudrat Daily) – Sadiq Khan Achakzai, central chairman of Mazloom Awami Tehreek Pakistan, expressed deep concern over the current unrest in Balochistan, stating that the province cannot endure large-scale loss of life and property. He emphasized that to tackle the prevailing insecurity, Baloch and Pashtun communities must demonstrate unity, as this is a time for harmony and division could push the province further toward destruction.
Achakzai called on tribal elders, prominent religious scholars, and political leaders in the province to play an active role during this critical situation and to hold a jirga aimed at establishing peace and stability.
He highlighted that one major cause of unrest in Balochistan is unemployment and the closure of businesses. Over the past few years, the province’s residents have been deprived of economic opportunities, and job prospects for young people remain severely limited. Achakzai urged the federal government and military leadership to seriously address Balochistan’s pressing issues, provide employment for youth, and reopen closed businesses.
The Mazloom Awami Tehreek chairman stated that goodwill initiatives and a special federal package could gradually steer Balochistan’s situation in the right direction. He also urged the provincial government to take immediate measures to win the trust of the disgruntled public and engage with them sincerely.
