SIndh Home Department Detains 180 People Ahead of Potential Protests in Karachi

Karachi: The Sindh Home Department has detained 180 individuals under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) ahead of potential protests and road blockages in Karachi. The majority of the detainees, 51 people, were taken into custody from the East Zone.

The action has been strongly condemned by PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh, who demanded the immediate release of all arrested leaders and workers.

Sheikh stated that PTI leaders and workers across Sindh are being raided and arrested despite their commitment to peaceful political activism. “We are law-abiding citizens who believe in constitutional and democratic struggle,” he added.

Authorities have taken these measures in anticipation of possible unrest on key city roads.
