According to the PMD, the system, driven by western winds, is expected to affect the province from the night of January 30 to February 3. Areas likely to experience rainfall include Chagai, Noshki, Quetta, Pishin, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Ziarat, Harnai, Zhob, and adjacent regions, while snow is expected in the mountainous and elevated areas.
The Meteorological Department and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) have cautioned residents about potential hazards, including slippery roads that may increase the risk of accidents and the possibility of landslides in hilly areas. Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel, and tourists visiting scenic spots are urged to take extra precautions.
Authorities have also directed all deputy commissioners to implement preventive measures and be prepared to respond to any emergency situations arising from the winter system.
