Opposition Leaders Condemn Secret Hospital Transfer of Imran Khan, Warn of Human Rights Violations

**Islamabad:** Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and head of the opposition alliance Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aain Pakistan (PTAP), has strongly condemned the secret hospital transfer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, stating that any negligence or delay in his case will not be tolerated.
Speaking alongside Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, Achakzai said that transferring Imran Khan without informing his family or personal doctors amounts to criminal negligence. “The health and life of a prisoner are the full responsibility of those holding him in custody,” he added.
He criticized the move as a blatant violation of the Constitution and the law, highlighting that denying access to Imran Khan’s personal doctors despite court orders is an extreme example of unconstitutional conduct. Achakzai demanded that Imran Khan’s medical condition be immediately disclosed to his family, warning that any harm to his health will be the responsibility of the authorities holding him.
Allama Raja Nasir Abbas described keeping Imran Khan away from his family and doctors as an inhumane act and called the secret hospital transfer a serious violation of human rights. Mahmood Khan Achakzai urged the nation to observe a countrywide shutdown on February 8 in support of Imran Khan’s release, emphasizing that as a prisoner, he must not be subjected to any secretive or unauthorized treatment.
