Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Visits Bahawalpur Garrison, Observes ‘Steadfast Resolve’ Field Exercise

Rawalpindi: Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, visited the Bahawalpur Garrison where he was briefed on the corps’ operational, training, and administrative preparedness, with a special focus on multi-domain warfare readiness.

According to ISPR, during the visit Field Marshal Munir observed the large-scale field exercise Steadfast Resolve at Khairpur Tamiwali. The exercise demonstrated the employment of modern technologies, including unmanned aerial systems (drones), advanced surveillance assets, electronic warfare systems, and modern command and control mechanisms, reflecting the armed forces’ preparedness for technology-driven multi-domain operations.

Addressing the troops, the Army Chief lauded their high morale, professional competence, and operational readiness. He said Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully prepared to counter all threats and defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, adding that constant preparedness is essential in view of future battlefields and evolving security challenges.

Field Marshal Munir noted that the character of modern warfare has changed significantly, with technology shaping the evolution of conflict. He emphasized that mental and operational transformation at all levels has become indispensable, stating that the armed forces are undergoing major reforms across various domains.

During the visit, the Army Chief also inaugurated the Rohi E-Skills Learning Hub (STP) aimed at promoting digital skills and learning opportunities for students, particularly in South Punjab and across the country. He further inaugurated the Army Public School Abbasiya Campus, reaffirming the Pakistan Army’s commitment to quality education and character building.

Field Marshal Munir also visited the EME Regional Workshop, where he was briefed on sustainment maintenance systems, the use of modern technologies, indigenous development, and other combat support initiatives.

Earlier, upon arrival at the Bahawalpur Garrison, the Commander Bahawalpur Corps received the Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff. At the conclusion of the visit, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial, offered prayers, and paid tribute to the supreme sacrifices of the nation’s heroes.
