Two Suspects Killed by Own Accomplices’ Fire During Police Encounter in Mardan

MARDAN: Two suspects were killed during a police encounter in the Rustam area of Mardan, allegedly after being hit by bullets fired by their own accomplices, police said on Tuesday.
According to police officials, a raid was conducted after receiving information about the presence of wanted criminals in the area. During the operation, an exchange of fire took place between the suspects and the police.
Police claimed that amid the crossfire, two suspects were fatally wounded by gunfire from their own associates. The remaining suspects managed to flee the scene.
Police said the deceased suspects were wanted in multiple criminal cases, including murder, drug trafficking, and theft. Further investigation is underway, while raids are being conducted to arrest the absconding accomplices.
