Chinese Newspaper Praises “Suthra Punjab” Program as Investors Show Strong Interest

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily):** A leading Chinese newspaper has lauded Pakistan’s *Suthra Punjab* program, with investors expressing keen interest in participating in the project.

According to a report published by *China Daily*, the *Suthra Punjab* initiative is a strong example of climate-smart urban governance. The report highlighted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the *Suthra Punjab* program has been granted the status of an autonomous authority. The authority is currently reviewing Chinese and Japanese models for waste-to-energy technology.

The Director General of the authority stated that Punjab welcomes cooperation with China in waste processing, recycling, and energy recovery solutions. Provincial Minister Zeeshan Rafiq said that the installation of such plants would help provide affordable domestic gas and fertilizer for agricultural use.

Meanwhile, the Secretary for Local Government noted that the *Suthra Punjab* program is creating employment opportunities while also contributing to improved public health. He added that Punjab has invited green infrastructure experts to invest in the province through China investment forums.

The report reflects growing international recognition of the *Suthra Punjab* program as a sustainable development initiative and highlights its potential to attract foreign investment in green and climate-friendly infrastructure.
