Mari Energies Achieves Major Success in Dera Bugti, Discovers Gas from Tibiri-1 Exploratory Well

**Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta):** Mari Energies Limited has announced the discovery of natural gas from the Tibiri-1 exploratory well in the Kalchas South Block, Dera Bugti district, Balochistan. The company has informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange about the development, considering it sensitive in terms of material impact and financial significance.
According to the company’s statement, Tibiri-1 is the first exploratory well in the Kalchas South Block. Drilling began on November 11, 2025, reaching a total depth of 7,170 feet. Initial testing showed gas production from the Dungan/Sui Main Limestone zone at 11 MMSCFD on a 64/64-inch choke, while 6.5 MMSCFD was recorded on a 32/64-inch choke. The well’s flowing pressure was measured at 561 and 1,161 PSI, respectively.
The Kalchas South Joint Venture comprises United Energy Pakistan Limited (UEPL) as the operator with a 46% interest, Mari Energies Limited holding 44%, and Dewan Petroleum Limited (DPL) with 10% working interest. Further testing is ongoing to determine the well’s full production capacity.
Mari Energies stated that the area remained largely inactive for a long period due to security concerns. However, following the acquisition of working interest from DPL in July 2023, exploration and production activities resumed, leading to this significant gas discovery. The company emphasized that this achievement reflects its commitment to the exploration and development of Pakistan’s domestic hydrocarbon resources.
