Heavy Rain and Snowfall Expected in Several Districts of Balochistan, Risk of Flash Floods in Streams

**Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta):** The Regional Meteorological Center Balochistan has forecast moderate rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds in various districts of the province on Monday, raising concerns over possible flooding in streams and slippery road conditions in snow-hit areas.
According to the weather advisory, rain is expected in Gwadar (Jiwani, Gwadar, Pasni, Ormara), Khuzdar, Kech (Turbat), Chagai (Taftan, Nokundi, Dalbandin), Panjgur, Kalat, Washuk, Surab, Quetta, Zhob, Mastung, Kharan, Qila Saifullah, Noshki, Loralai (Musa Khel), and Awaran. The department further warned that heavy rainfall may occur in parts of Gwadar, Khuzdar, Awaran, Chagai, Panjgur, Washuk, and Kech during the next 12 hours.
Light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds is also likely in Kachhi, Sibi, Ziarat, Harnai, Dukki, Kohlu, Jhal Magsi, and Loralai. Meanwhile, light to moderate snowfall has been forecast in Quetta, Ziarat, Kalat, Chaman, Pishin, Hermazai, Khanozai, Kan Mehtarzai, Muslim Bagh, Loralai Band, Qila Abdullah, Gulistan, and Dobandi.
The Meteorological Department cautioned that heavy rainfall in some areas could lead to flash flooding in urban drains and hill torrents, while snowfall may make roads slippery, potentially disrupting traffic. Relevant departments and district administrations have been advised to take precautionary measures.
For Tuesday, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is expected in Quetta, Mastung, Surab, Zhob, Qila Saifullah, Qila Abdullah, Noshki, Pishin, Panjgur, Chagai, Washuk, Kharan, and Kalat, while snowfall is likely to continue in mountainous regions.
During the past 24 hours, 4.7 inches of snowfall was recorded in Kalat, while light snowfall was observed in various parts of Quetta. Rainfall recorded included 34 millimeters in Kalat, 17.25 millimeters in Ziarat, 15.2 millimeters in Dalbandin, and varying amounts in other areas. The lowest temperature was recorded in Kalat at minus 5 degrees Celsius.
