Legendary Ghazal Singer Tarnum Naz Regrets Transferring Her House to Children

Pakistan’s renowned classical and ghazal singer Tarnum Naz recently shared a heartfelt regret about her personal life, revealing that she will carry the sorrow of this decision for the rest of her life.

During a talk show, when asked about the saddest moment of her life, Tarnum Naz explained that she had purchased land and built her dream house with her own hard-earned money. At the time, her children were young, so she transferred the house to their names, believing it would secure their future.

Speaking emotionally, she said that as her children grew up and got married, they began claiming a share of the property. “The value and respect of parents is truly realized when they themselves are the owners of their property,” she reflected.

The legendary singer admitted that giving her house to her children was the biggest mistake of her life, one whose pain she will carry forever. She clarified that while her children are still obedient, if the house had remained in her name, the situation would have been different and likely more manageable.

Tarnum Naz is remembered for her powerful voice and classical PTV songs. She was a student of Ustad Ashiq Hussain and is often compared to Madam Noor Jehan. She has also been honored with the Pride of Performance award for her contributions to Pakistani music.
