Karachi: Search Operation at Gul Plaza Nearly Complete, 73 Dead in Fire Tragedy

Karachi: Deputy Commissioner South, Javed Nabi Khoso, announced that the search operation at Gul Plaza is almost complete. Speaking to Geo News, he stated that today a technical team will enter the building for the final inspection, after which the structure will be sealed. Families who still have missing loved ones have been urged to come forward.

According to the DC, out of 79 missing individuals, the families of 13 have not yet provided DNA samples. Data of 30 deceased individuals has already been submitted to the government to facilitate compensation for their families.

Meanwhile, SSP City Arif Aziz stated that all aspects of negligence and carelessness will be investigated. Authorities are looking into why the doors were not opened even after the fire broke out.

It is reported that in the Gul Plaza tragedy, 73 people lost their lives, of which 23 have been identified so far.

The fire at Gul Plaza broke out on the night of January 17, destroying the entire building. Authorities continue investigations to determine the cause of the fire and hold responsible parties accountable.
