Changes in Nail Color May Signal Serious Health Issues, Experts Warn

**Islamabad:** Experts have warned that sudden or unusual changes in the color, texture, or shape of nails can be an early indicator of underlying health problems. Nails often reflect overall body health, and abnormal changes may point to issues related to the liver, kidneys, heart, lungs, or anemia.
Medical specialists have identified seven nail color changes that require special attention:
* **White Nails:** May indicate liver disease or diabetes.
* **Half Pink, Half White:** Could signal kidney-related problems.
* **Yellow Nails:** May suggest lung disease or circulation issues, though fungal infections or smoking could also be a cause.
* **Dark Red / Discoid Red Half-Moon:** A dark spot under the nail can indicate melanoma (skin cancer).
* **Blue Nails:** Often caused by low oxygen levels in the blood.
* **Yellow with White Shades:** Atypical white or yellow coloration may indicate health concerns.
Experts advise consulting a qualified doctor immediately if any unusual changes in nails are noticed, to ensure timely diagnosis and treatment of potential health risks.
