Turbat–Bledah Road Inaugurated: Mir Zahoor Ahmed Balidi Announces Multi-Billion Development Package for Southern Balochistan

**Turbat, Balochistan:** Provincial Planning and Development Minister Mir Zahoor Ahmed Balidi officially inaugurated the newly constructed Turbat–Bledah Road, a 33-kilometer blacktopped highway built at a cost of PKR 2.61 billion. The inauguration ceremony was attended by thousands, including Provincial Advisor for Sports and Youth Affairs Mina Majeed Baloch, Parliamentary Secretaries Mir Asghar Baloch and Haji Barkat Rand, former provincial minister Syed Ehsan Shah, and local leaders.
Project Director Bahram Gachki briefed attendees, stating that the 20-foot-wide road, with shoulders and berms totaling 32 feet, includes five major bridges and 67 small culverts. Concrete shoulders were used to protect the road from rain damage in the hilly terrain. The project, initially estimated at PKR 2.74 billion, was completed with a saving of PKR 13 million.
Addressing the gathering, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Balidi thanked the residents of Bledah and Kech district for their support, calling the road “not just a highway, but a key to regional development.” He announced a comprehensive development package for the constituency, including hospitals, schools, water supply schemes, dams, and other essential infrastructure, with total projects worth PKR 40–50 billion. Key initiatives include the Abdoui and Sarkazi border highway project (PKR 8 billion), Geshkor Dam, Bledah–Balgatar Road, Bledah–Prom Road, and connecting remote areas like Zamran to Bledah via roads.
The minister also revealed that the scope of development will extend to other Kech subdivisions, including Turbat, Dasht, and Tump, ensuring equitable growth across the district. Additionally, a Green Bus service will begin on January 26 in Turbat to improve urban transport facilities.
Provincial Advisor Mina Majeed Baloch lauded the project, highlighting its role in boosting Bledah’s economy and praising Balidi’s popularity among the masses. Parliamentary Secretaries Mir Asghar Baloch and Haji Barkat Rand emphasized that the road will greatly enhance travel facilities and stand as a testament to the people’s support for the government. Former provincial minister Syed Ehsan Shah said the road would benefit hundreds of thousands and bring significant social and economic transformation to the region.
This milestone project is part of a broader initiative under the Southern Balochistan Development Package led by Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti and provincial leadership.
