US ‘Peace Board’ Cannot Replace United Nations, Says China

**Davos:** China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that US President Donald Trump’s proposed “Board of Peace” cannot replace the role of the United Nations.

Addressing the World Economic Forum, a Chinese representative said the United Nations holds a central position in maintaining global peace and the international order. He added that protectionist policies have posed serious challenges to globalization, but China is providing stability and reassurance amid global uncertainty.

The spokesperson of China’s Foreign Ministry said that China is not only prepared to serve as the world’s factory but also aims to play its role as a global market. He emphasized that a multilateral system is essential for resolving global issues, and the United Nations forms the foundation of this system.

He further said that China stands firmly with the UN-based international system and will continue to support the role of the United Nations regardless of how the global situation evolves. China, he added, has no intention of entering into a race for influence with any country.
