Karachi: DNA of Suspect in Child Abuse Case Matches 8 Victims; Investigation Expands

Karachi: In a major development in a child abuse case in Karachi’s Mahmoodabad area, the DNA of the primary suspect, Imran, has matched eight victims, authorities confirmed. The suspect is alleged to have abused over 100 children.
According to private TV reports, the DNA evidence has strengthened the case, prompting investigators to widen the scope of the inquiry. During a four-day police remand, authorities are also probing possible accomplices.
Sources revealed that after Imran’s arrest, his criminal record from Punjab was obtained. Records indicate that between 2018 and 2023, he was involved in eight cases across Multan and surrounding areas, including child abuse, abduction, and attempted murder.
Officials added that Imran’s wife had left him for Faisalabad with their children in 2024, but the suspect continued traveling to Punjab during this period.
The suspect is currently under four-day police remand, and investigations into additional victims and potential facilitators are ongoing.
