Snowfall Continues in Several Areas of Balochistan, PDMA on High Alert

Quetta:Snowfall has been reported in various parts of Balochistan, including **Ziarat, Kan Mehtarzai, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, and Qila Saifullah**, disrupting normal life in the region.
According to the **Director General PDMA**, the spell of snowfall began late at night and is continuing intermittently. On the special instructions of **Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti**, **rescue teams and heavy machinery** have already been deployed to the affected areas.
Efforts are underway to **clear snow from major highways**, while PDMA staff and machinery remain actively engaged in **Chaman, Kan Mehtarzai, Qila Saifullah, and Ziarat**. Machinery and relief supplies had been dispatched in advance to areas likely to be affected by rain and snowfall.
In the **Muslim Bagh** area, operations are ongoing to restore traffic flow on the **national highway**, which has become slippery due to snowfall.
DG PDMA **Jahanzeb Khan** said that the Chief Minister has directed authorities to ensure **immediate relief operations** during the snowfall. He added that the **PDMA control room is fully operational 24/7** and remains in close coordination with district administrations.
PDMA officials have assured that the department is **fully prepared to handle any emergency situation** arising from the ongoing weather conditions.
