Are Eggs Safe for Weight Loss? Nutrition Experts Provide Simple Answers

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) – Nutrition experts have clarified common questions about eggs, a superfood often surrounded by mixed opinions regarding health, cholesterol, and weight management.

According to specialists, eggs make an excellent breakfast as they keep the stomach full for longer periods and help reduce unnecessary hunger. Even patients with fatty liver can consume eggs in moderation, as the protein in eggs supports liver health.

For most healthy individuals, eggs do not raise cholesterol levels. Research shows that the body naturally regulates cholesterol. Eggs are also beneficial for weight loss, helping reduce belly fat and controlling cravings without inducing hunger.

Eggs contain almost zero carbohydrates, so they do not spike blood sugar, making them suitable for people with diabetes or insulin issues. Eating eggs with coffee or green tea has shown no harmful effects.

Experts note that eggs generally do not cause gas or bloating, though individuals with digestive sensitivity may need to adjust quantity or preparation methods. Consuming raw eggs is strongly discouraged due to the risk of Salmonella infection, whereas cooked eggs allow better protein absorption.

Recommended ways to eat eggs include boiled, poached, scrambled, or as an omelet. Typically, one to two whole eggs per day are considered safe and sufficient for adults.
