Adjacent Building Declared Unsafe After Gul Plaza Fire in Karachi

Karachi: Structural damage has been reported to the pillars of a building adjacent to the fire-hit Gul Plaza in Karachi. Following an inspection, the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has declared **Rimpa Plaza**, located next to Gul Plaza, unsafe.
According to SBCA officials, the third-degree fire that broke out at Gul Plaza severely affected the structural pillars of Rimpa Plaza, posing serious safety risks. As a precautionary measure, notices have been issued to the management of Rimpa Plaza and shop owners.
The authority has also imposed a ban on the use of the dangerous portions of Rimpa Plaza and warned that strict action will be taken against any unauthorized activity within the premises.
It is pertinent to note that the devastating fire at Gul Plaza, which erupted on Saturday night, has so far claimed **28 lives**, while **74 missing persons have been confirmed** out of a total of **81 reported missing**. Search, rescue, and identification processes are still ongoing.
