Balochistan Police Being Equipped with Modern Technology and Training to Tackle Terrorism: IG Muhammad Tahir

**Quetta:** Inspector General of Police (IGP) Balochistan Muhammad Tahir has said that the Balochistan Police are being equipped with modern technology, advanced training, and all available resources to effectively counter terrorism and other security challenges in the province.

He expressed these views while inaugurating a newly constructed, state-of-the-art building for the Balochistan Constabulary at Badar Line, Quetta. The project, completed at a cost of Rs 106 million, includes a modern administrative block and newly built residential barracks. Senior police officers, including Additional IGP Javed Ali Mehr, Additional IGP and Commandant Balochistan Constabulary Ashfaq Ahmed, DIG Headquarters Ayaz Ahmed بلوچ, DIG Quetta Imran Shaukat, DIG Special Branch Tahir Alauddin Kasi, and other officials were present on the occasion.

IG Muhammad Tahir stated that police personnel are playing a frontline role against anti-state elements to maintain law and order, and the department is utilizing all available resources for the welfare and capacity building of its force. He emphasized that the standards of all police departments are being improved through modern training in physical fitness, advanced weapon handling, and investigative systems.

He added that after the merger of B-Area personnel into the police force, officers are being provided comprehensive professional training to further enhance their operational capabilities. The IGP noted that the provincial government is taking serious and concrete steps to strengthen the capacity and infrastructure of security institutions, which will significantly improve the performance of law enforcement agencies.

Highlighting the importance of welfare, he said that providing better residential facilities to police and security personnel is among the government’s top priorities, as a secure and comfortable environment positively impacts professional performance and morale.

During the briefing, officials informed that the newly constructed facility includes five barracks with accommodation for 150 personnel, along with a canteen, TV hall, waiting area, and other modern amenities. The IGP expressed confidence that these new facilities would not only improve the welfare of Balochistan Constabulary personnel but also enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the force.
