Study Reveals Link Between High Blood Sugar and Increased Alzheimer’s Risk

Islamabad (Daily Qudrat) – A recent study has revealed that elevated blood sugar levels, a common sign of **diabetes and pre-diabetes**, may be linked to a higher risk of developing **Alzheimer’s disease**.

The research, conducted by the **University of Liverpool**, found that individuals who experience high blood sugar levels after meals are more likely to develop Alzheimer’s later in life. Blood sugar levels spike after eating when glucose rises rapidly and remains elevated for a prolonged period.

**Dr. Andrew Mason**, the lead researcher, stated that the findings could help develop strategies to prevent this condition in the future. He emphasized that managing blood sugar is not just about controlling overall levels, but particularly **keeping post-meal spikes under control** to reduce long-term neurological risks.

The study highlights the critical connection between metabolic health and brain health, suggesting that early intervention in managing blood sugar could play a key role in **Alzheimer’s prevention**.
