KP Chief Minister Announces Increase in Compensation for Partially Damaged Homes in Bajaur Operation

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has announced a significant increase in financial assistance for the reconstruction of partially damaged houses affected by the recent operation in Bajaur. The compensation amount has been raised from Rs160,000 to Rs500,000.

The announcement was made during a jirga chaired by the chief minister, which was attended by Bajaur parliamentarians, tribal elders, and local notables. The jirga expressed full confidence in the chief minister and assured him of their cooperation.

During the meeting, participants held detailed discussions on the law and order situation in the province and the overall development strategy. The elders presented various suggestions aimed at ensuring lasting peace in the region.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi stated that tribal elders, the general public, police, and security forces have made immense sacrifices for the restoration of peace in the province. He said that complete peace had been achieved by 2018, but deliberate attempts are now being made to destabilize the situation again.

He emphasized that the most effective way to ensure sustainable peace is through inclusive decision-making by taking tribal elders and the provincial government into confidence. He made it clear that the provincial government would not become part of any failed policy.
