DHO Washuk Suspended Over Allegations of Selling Government Medicines in Open Market

Quetta: The Balochistan Health Department has suspended District Health Officer (DHO) Washuk, Dr. Muhammad Akbar Rand (Grade 19), over serious allegations of illegally selling government-provided medicines in the open market.
According to an official notification issued on January 14, 2026, the action was taken under Section 6 of the Balochistan Employees Efficiency and Discipline Act (BEEDA) 2011, following prior approval from the competent authority.
The notification further stated that Additional Secretary (Development) Health Department, Saqib Kakar, has been appointed as the inquiry officer to investigate the charges against Dr. Akbar Rand. He has been directed to submit a detailed report within one week.
The order, signed by Secretary Health Mujeeb ur Rehman, has been sent to the Chief Secretary Balochistan, DG Health Services, Deputy Commissioner Washuk, and all relevant authorities to ensure prompt legal action and a transparent inquiry.
