Pashtunkhwa MAP Condemns Mines and Minerals Act as a Tool to Deprive Pashtun and Baloch of Natural Resources

Quetta:The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) has strongly condemned the Mines and Minerals Act, stating that it serves only to deprive the Pashtun and Baloch people of their rightful share in the natural and mineral wealth of their homeland. In a statement issued by the party’s central secretariat, PkMAP asserted that the people will hold those who passed this legislation accountable.
The party reiterated its opposition to what it calls an incompetent and failed government imposed through Form-47, and vowed to continue its struggle against such governments. PkMAP stated it would expose and defeat all elements involved in compromising national interests through political deals, with the help of democratic forces and political alliances across the country.
The statement also expressed serious concerns over the recent results of the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) PCS exams, alleging a gross violation of merit, laws, and rules. It claimed that hard-working and deserving candidates were deliberately failed, leading to a loss of trust among the youth and the public in state institutions. The party vowed to challenge any unilateral actions undermining merit and to defend the rights of diligent and capable youth at all levels.
On the issue of the Levies Force, the party dismissed the recent notification regarding its abolition, calling it unconstitutional and illegal. PkMAP declared that the Levies Force is integral to maintaining peace in remote Pashtun regions and any attempt to replace the B-Area with A-Area policing will be firmly resisted.
The statement also criticized the closure of parking spaces in Quetta markets without first constructing parking plazas. This move, it said, has caused significant difficulties for shopkeepers and citizens, especially during the Eid shopping season.
Furthermore, the party voiced concern over rising terrorist incidents in Pashtun areas, alleging the involvement or support of state elements. It condemned the targeting of innocent and poor civilians under the pretense of counter-terror operations. PkMAP emphasized that it is the responsibility of political and democratic activists to raise their voice against such injustices and to work toward exposing state complicity and ensuring protection for the public.
The party concluded by reaffirming its commitment to playing a positive, historical, and democratic political role in protecting its people from oppression and ensuring their rights through peaceful and lawful struggle.
