PNAP Chief Nasrullah Zery Warns of Strike Over Power Crisis, Demands Affordable Electricity for Pashtuns

**Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta):**
Nasrullah Khan Zery, provincial president of the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PNAP), has issued a strict ultimatum to the government, warning that if “anti-people” policies continue, the party will organize a **shutter-down and wheel-jam strike**.
Speaking at a press conference in Quetta, Zery demanded that, in line with the Khyber National Jirga’s decisions, electricity be provided to Pashtun-populated areas from **Sibi to Swat at Rs. 5 per unit**. He highlighted that while the **Tarbela Dam generates 20 billion units of electricity annually**, Pashtun areas remain in darkness. He added that if Kashmiris can access electricity at Rs. 1–3 per unit, Pashtuns should also benefit from affordable electricity from their own water resources.
Zery described the **18 to 21 hours of load-shedding, the elimination of feeders, and the destruction of the electricity infrastructure** as **“equivalent to economic murder.”** He also rejected the ban on Iranian petrol and diesel, urging the government to negotiate with Iran under the **18th Amendment** to provide cheaper fuel.
The PNAP leader condemned harassment and extortion of traders by **FC checkpoints and customs officials**. He also demanded that the government **accept the Grand Alliance employees’ demands**, release arrested party leaders, and end land encroachments on the **Kassi and Bazai tribes** in Samungli and Nohsaar.
Zery further called for the restoration of trade activities along the **Chaman to Bajaur Durand Line** and warned that if these demands are ignored, the **scope of democratic protests will be expanded nationwide.**
