PPP Leader Palwasha Khan Alleges Fake Ordinance Issued in President Zardari’s Name, Calls for Factory Closure

Islamabad: Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Senator Palwasha Khan has raised serious concerns over the issuance of a “fake ordinance,” saying it represents a subtle manipulation even involving President Asif Ali Zardari.
Speaking at a press conference at the PPP Secretariat alongside central leader Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed, Palwasha Khan said, “We have heard of fake medicines and fake degrees, but now fake ordinances are also appearing. A fake ordinance was issued in the name of the President, without his signature, deceiving him in the process.”
She explained that the government claimed the ordinance was issued “by mistake” and has since been withdrawn. However, she warned, “Pakistan cannot afford such errors. Anyone responsible should be removed, and the factory producing fake ordinances should be closed immediately.”
Palwasha Khan also emphasized that the PPP would continue to oppose the privatization of the National Shipping Corporation, saying, “We don’t understand who advises them. The PPP has a clear stance against privatization, and we will raise our voice and present the facts to the nation.”
Commenting on the PTI political power show in Karachi, she said the party had to hold the rally on the road because Bagh-e-Jinnah park could not accommodate the crowd.
Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed criticized the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), calling it a “robbery of public assets.” He said, “The PIA office in Blue Area was valued at 20 crore PKR, but PIA was privatized for 135 billion PKR, while its real estate alone is worth 200 billion PKR. We will never allow such deals.”
He added that Senator Palwasha Khan, as a member of the privatization committee, had requested PIA privatization documents which were not provided. “We cooperate with the government in Parliament but do not endorse other government actions,” he clarified.
