High Alert Across Sindh for Jumu’atul Wida; Authorities Order Tight Security Measures
Karachi: Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has directed authorities to ensure strict security arrangements across the province on the occasion of Jumu’atul Wida, emphasizing the need for foolproof safety measures.
He instructed law enforcement agencies to maintain high alert during Friday prayers and deploy additional personnel at mosques, imambargahs, and large congregations to prevent any untoward incidents.
The minister particularly ordered the implementation of special security plans in sensitive districts, strict checking at entry and exit points, and close monitoring of suspicious activities.
Traffic police have also been directed to devise a comprehensive traffic management plan to facilitate smooth movement of citizens and avoid congestion.
Appealing to the public, Lanjar urged citizens to immediately report any suspicious individuals or objects to the nearest police station or helpline, highlighting that public cooperation plays a vital role in maintaining security.
Keeping in view the sanctity of the occasion, he also called upon religious scholars to promote messages of tolerance, peace, and unity in their sermons.
