Australia Women’s Captain Alyssa Healy Announces Retirement from International Cricket

Australia women’s cricket team captain and renowned wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy has announced her retirement from international cricket.
Healy stated that the series against India, scheduled from February to March 2026 ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, will be the final international series of her career.
The 35-year-old made the announcement during an appearance on the popular podcast *“Willow Talk”*, saying she will retire from international cricket after the conclusion of the India series.
She revealed that she had been considering the decision for several months, describing it as a difficult one. Healy cited mental fatigue and recurring injuries as the main reasons behind her decision.
Alyssa Healy also confirmed that she will not take part in T20 International matches against India. She explained that with limited time available for the team’s preparation for the T20 World Cup, she decided to step away from the T20 format.
However, Healy will continue to lead Australia in the One Day International series and the day-night Test match to be played in Perth.
