No Extension in School Holidays Despite Severe Cold, Punjab Education Minister Clarifies

**Lahore (Qudrat Daily):** Amid rising cold temperatures, rumors about extended school holidays in Punjab have been strongly denied by the provincial government.
A notification circulating on social media claimed that due to extreme cold, all government and private schools in Punjab would remain closed from January 10 to January 17, 2026, and reopen on January 19. However, neither the Punjab government nor the School Education Department has issued any official notification regarding this.
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat categorically rejected the rumors of extended holidays. He confirmed that all schools and colleges will reopen as per the previously announced schedule on January 12. The minister clarified that the viral notification is fake and that educational institutions across Punjab will operate according to their regular timings.
Earlier, the Punjab government had announced winter holidays from December 22, 2025, to January 10, 2026, with classes scheduled to resume from January 12.
