Ignoring Public Opinion Will Lead to an Explosion, Rulers Will Have No Way to Escape: Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman

Lahore: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has warned that if public opinion continues to be ignored, the situation could erupt with serious consequences for the ruling elite.

Addressing a gathering at Mansoorah in Lahore, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said that former US President Donald Trump is working toward establishing a new colonial system. He added that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a criminal in the eyes of the International Court of Justice, while Pakistan’s rulers remain eager to seek Trump’s patronage.

He cautioned that if the will of the people is not respected, “the lava will explode,” adding that once the public rises, rulers will find no route to escape. He strongly criticized the Punjab government’s new local government law, calling it anti-democratic.

Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman further said that while oil prices are declining globally, prices continue to rise in Pakistan, which he described as unjust. He stressed the need to dismantle what he termed an oppressive system and a decaying judicial structure.

The Jamaat-e-Islami chief said that the party respects all schools of thought but does not represent any single sect. He announced that Jamaat-e-Islami will hold a referendum on this issue on January 15.
