Balochistan Grand Alliance’s Charter of Demands Based on Rights, Government Urged to Stop Arrests: National Party

*Quetta:* A delegation of the Balochistan Grand Alliance, including Haji Asghar Bangulzai, Haji Shifa Mengal, Rais Dur Muhammad Lango, Manzoor Rahi Baloch, Ghaffar Jamali, Haji Sahib Jan, Comrade Waheed Baloch, Shah Nawaz Zehri, Ayaz Kakr, and Umar Baloch, visited the National Party’s central secretariat to brief the leadership on their Charter of Demands and ongoing protest movement.

Dr. Ishaq Baloch, central vice president of the National Party, stated that the party represents the middle class and believes that raising one’s voice for constitutional rights is a fundamental duty of every citizen. He criticized the government for detaining employees under Section 16 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, calling it reminiscent of authoritarian measures.

He urged the government to recognize the Charter of Demands of the Balochistan Grand Alliance and refrain from raids and arrests of employees, emphasizing that the constitution guarantees uniformity in employees’ salaries and that the government should provide relief to employees amid the current high inflation.

Member of the Provincial Assembly, Kulsoom Niaz Baloch, added that the National Party has consistently supported employees’ legitimate demands and called on the government to respect these rights without resorting to crackdowns. She emphasized that the party will continue to raise its voice for employees’ rights on all platforms.

The National Party also encouraged the Balochistan Grand Alliance to prioritize public service, particularly in the sectors of education and health.
